Kati Basti Jaipur (कटि बस्ति)
Overview
Kati Basti is a popular localized therapy in which warm medicated oil is retained over the lower back using a dam made of dough, to relieve stiffness and pain in the lumbar region.
How It Works
The sustained warmth and herbal properties of the retained oil penetrate the lower back muscles and joints, helping relax tissue and ease Vata-related stiffness.

The Process
Purva Karma (Preparation)
A dough dam is prepared around the lower back area to safely contain the warm oil.
Pradhana Karma (Main Procedure)
Warm medicated oil is poured into the dam and retained over the lower back for a set duration, topped up as needed.
Paschat Karma (Aftercare)
The area is gently cleaned and patients are advised to rest and avoid cold exposure.
